Molding process of FRP products

1. Accept the letter of appointment
The specification for forming FRP parts is usually submitted by the component designer, and its contents are as follows:
1. Approved and signed normal parts drawing, indicating the brand number and technical parameters of the products used.
2. Specification or technical requirements for FRP components.
3. Production output.
4. Fiberglass sample.
Usually the design plan descriptions of the mold by the glass fiber reinforced plastic parts engineer, according to the molding FRP parts specification, mold designers to molding FRP parts specification, mold design specification as the basis to design the mold.
Collect, analyze and digest the original data
To collect and sort out the materials of parts design, forming process, forming equipment, mechanical processing and special processing for use in mold design.
1. Digested the GFRP parts drawing, understood the purpose of the parts, and analyzed the technical requirements of GFRP parts, such as technology and dimension precision.Such as glass fiber reinforced plastic parts in appearance shape, color, transparency, what is the use of performance requirements, the geometric structure of glass fiber reinforced plastic, slope, insert, and so on and so forth is reasonable, welding scar, degree of molding defects such as shrinkage cavity allows, with or without coating, electroplating, after cementing, drilling and other processing.The size with the highest precision of plastic parts is selected for analysis to see whether the estimated forming tolerance is lower than that of FRP parts and whether the required FRP parts can be formed.In addition, it is necessary to understand the curing and forming process parameters of FRP products.
2. Digested the process data, analyzed whether the molding method, equipment model, material specifications, mold structure and other requirements proposed in the process specifications were appropriate and could be implemented.
The forming materials should meet the strength requirements of FRP, and have good fluidity, uniformity, isotropy and thermal stability.Based on the purposes of glass fiber reinforced plastic parts, molding materials meet the conditions of dyeing, metallized, decorative performance, necessary elasticity and plasticity, transparency, or instead of reflection performance, glue joint or welding requirements.
3. Determine the molding method
Direct pressure method, casting pressure method or injection method.
4. Select molding equipment
According to the type of molding equipment to carry out the mold, so must be familiar with the performance, specifications, characteristics of various molding equipment.For moulding machine, for example, in terms of specifications should know the following content: the moulding capacity, pressure, speed, die installation size, ejection device and size, mould opening way, nozzle hole diameter and the nozzle radius of sphere, gate location ring size, mould maximum thickness and the minimum thickness, templates, travel, etc., see the related parameters.
To preliminarily estimate the dimensions of the mold, determine whether the mold can be installed and used on the selected die press.
5. Concrete structural programmes
(1) determine the mold type
Such as the pressure mold (open, semi-closed, closed), casting pressure mold, injection mold, etc.
(2) determine the main structure of mold type
Choose the ideal mold structure is to determine the necessary molding equipment, the ideal cavity number, under the condition of absolute reliable can make the mold itself the job satisfaction of the glass fiber reinforced plastic parts processing technology and production economy demands.The technical requirement of FRP is to ensure the geometric shape, surface finish and dimension precision of FRP.The requirement of production economy is to make FRP parts cost low, production efficiency high, mould can work continuously, service life long, save labor.
3. There are many factors influencing the mold structure and individual mold systems, which are very complex:
1. Cavity layout.The number and arrangement of the cavity are determined according to the geometric structure characteristics, dimension precision requirements, batch size, difficulty in mold manufacturing and mold cost of FRP.
The precision, temperature control method, curing time and action sequence of FRP components are also discussed.
2. Determine the parting surface.The position of the parting surface should be conducive to mold processing, exhaust, demoulding and molding operations, surface quality of FRP components, etc.
3. Determine the fabric pattern (shape, position and size of SMC, DMC and BMC) and the exhaust system (exhaust method, exhaust slot position and size).
4. Select the jacking method (jacking rod, jacking tube, pushing plate and combined jacking), and determine the side concave treatment method and core pulling method.
5. Determine the cooling and heating modes, the shape and position of the heating and cooling groove, and the installation position of the heating element.
6. According to mold material, strength calculation or empirical data, determine the thickness and dimension of mold parts, the shape and structure, and the position of all connecting, locating and guiding parts.
7. Determine the structural form of the main molding parts and structural parts.
8. Calculate the working dimensions of the molding parts considering the strength of each part of the mould.
If the above problems are solved, the structure of the mould will be solved naturally.At this point, you should begin to sketch the mold structure and prepare for the formal drawing.
